Porter Creek borders the Alaska Highway but don’t fret the highway noise almost all the residential houses are set back from the thoroughfare. The mix of housing is diverse from smaller bungalows built in the ’60s to Supergreen new houses.
As you explore the neighbourhood you may notice that most of the streets are named after trees which is fitting for this beautiful neighbourhood. Some of the lots are so large that they are considered to be the country residential.
Conveniences in Porter Creek
The building is very unassuming but the Chinese food is great, serving Caton and Szechuan cuisine.
Modern Pub food with giant burgers, spicy caesars and cold craft beer.
Cosmos Restaurant
The best Greek food in Whitehorse but if you enjoy vino with your rack of lamb they are not licensed, but you can order their food in the pub next door.
Trails North Car and Truckstop
Heaven if you love old school dinners. Everything is homemade and homestyle, the burgers are handmade and juicy and I often drive there for a slice of carrot cake it’s incredibly fantastic.
