A cute neighbourhood of single-family detached houses and manufactured homes. Arkell is very quiet and is a fantastic neighbourhood, there are trailers in Arkell, but it is not a ‘trailer park.’ The slang term for a manufactured home is ‘trailer’ but in my opinion, has negative connotations that no longer reflects the quality of newer homes. Each home is on their lot, and you own the land, no pad rent. The neighbourhood connects to Ingram through Mallard Way. Arkell has a fantastic park featuring a fire engine with a ringing bell Arkell Park. The area also plugs into the Arkell, Copper Ridge Trail System touring you through Arkell wetlands, summer use only. There are lots of other trails that are open year-round. The trail system in Whitehorse is impressive. Check out all the mountain biking trails; most of the trails were master-planned to loop, so you don’t have to turn around. If you love to cross country skiing, the Whitehorse Nordic Centre maintains a world-class trail system, offering 85 km of groomed trails and an additional 20 km of ungroomed trails perfect for practicing backcountry skiing.
